Remove annoying horizontal lines in Microsoft Word

I have a habit of dumping several things in a single Word document to read them later on. To clearly separate the different articles, I type in three hyphens (---) and press enter; it automatically changes into a horizontal line thanks to AutoFormat. But you might sometimes find these lines really annoying and hard to delete because most users don't realize they are actually borders.

Place the cursor right above the horizontal line
Format > Borders and Shading... > None > OK

See? It's gone.
